Join Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) and Johnson Creek Watershed Council (JCWC) in this region-wide event to rid our natural areas of the pesky weedy growing species, English ivy. The event will take place at Knapp Falls in outer SE Portland. Removing invasively growing plants helps restore wildlife habitat and creates space for a diversity of native plants and animals to thrive.
Please register ahead of time by selecting “respond” for an individual and “respond as a team” to register more than one person. If you are not comfortable creating a login to register for any reason, please reach out to the site supervisor and they can help you get registered.
Parking: Look for PP&R signs to guide you to the park entrance. There is off-street parking on SE Knapp Street. If you are taking public transit, from the intersection of SE Flavel Street and SE 92nd, take Flavel St east (cross under I-205) and take the first left onto SE Knapp Street (if you end up going up the hill on Mt. Scott Blvd., you have missed the turn). The natural area is ¼ mile east on SE Knapp Street on your right.
Children are welcome and any child under 14 years of age needs to be accompanied by an attentive adult.
Accessibility: The project area includes walking uphill on an unpaved path, kneeling and bending down and walking on sloped and uneven ground. A portable restroom (not ADA compliant) will be available at this site.
