Join PP&R for a family-friendly park stewardship day!

Help us install native, and pollinator-friendly plants at one of the park's garden beds to support biodiversity and attract beneficial pollinators like bees, butterflies, and birds.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about gardening, native plants, and to connect with your neighbors and community. Open to all skills, paces, and abilities, no experience is required to participate.

Click "Respond" to register. Thank you for volunteering with us!

Meeting Location

We'll be working at two different areas of the park this Friday. Volunteers are welcome to drop in and attend for as long as they'd like.

8 am to 11 am: Meet at the nature patch next to Columbia Cottage

11 am to 1 pm: Meet at the park entrance off N Lombard and Woolsey by the play are

Site Accessibility

There is an accessible restroom onsite. The park has paved pathways throughout. One project will be focused on a garden bed on the west side of the park near the play area. The area is adjacent to a paved pathway. The other project will take place in the nature patch and may require navigating across gravel or soft surface trails.

The park is heavily shaded by many beautiful trees.

If you have questions about the accessibility of the event, please contact us. If you have an ADA accommodation request to be able to participate in this volunteer event, please use the 311 ADA Accommodation Request webpage.

If you would like to learn more about or request language access services, please contact PDX 311.

We recommend making your request as soon as possible and at least 5 business days (Monday - Friday) in advance of the event.

Event Details and Reminders

Please bring a reusable water bottle if you have one, and any snacks you may need. Wear sturdy close-toed shoes, clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty, and layers to dress for the weather.

Work looks and feels different for every body. We encourage volunteers to go at their own pace and take breaks to rest.

Keep yourself and your community safe and healthy - please stay home if you are sick. There will always be more opportunities to volunteer with us!

Pre-registration for this event isn't required; only registered volunteers will receive event updates, including changes or cancellation notification.
