Description

JoinPortland Parks & Recreation and Kindness Farm in planting native plants in this quiet natural area. Upper Wahoo is part of the larger Wahoo Creek Natural Area. Tucked between Johnson Creek and Willamette National Cemetery in East Portland, this area plays a critical role in urban health and wildlife connectivity in the Johnson Creek Watershed. Having a diversity of native plants supports a variety of insects and wildlife and helps provide clean air and water in our city.

Please register ahead of time by selecting “respond” for an individual or “respond for a team” to register more than one person. If you are not comfortable creating a login to register for any reason, please reach out to meng.vue@portlandoregon.gov and they can help you to register.


  • Meeting Location: Look for Portland Parks & Recreation signs to guide you to the entrance of the natural area. 
  • Parking: There is only off-street parking available, with the best parking being on SE 127th Ave and SE Knapp Street. 
  • Children are welcome. Any child under 15 years of age needs to be accompanied by an attentive adult.
  • Accessibility: This event may require standing or squatting/kneeling for long periods of time, walking over uneven ground, bending, and lifting heavy objects. Portable bathrooms are available for this event.

Inclement Weather Plan: If weather conditions are unsafe and volunteers cannot get to/from a site, the event will be canceled, and volunteers will be notified.

Get Connected Icon In order to ensure your comfort and safety, please remember to dress for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, bring a water bottle, and be ready to get dirty!

Get Connected Icon Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness or have had recent contact with someone exhibiting symptoms of any illness.
