Join PP&R and the Friends of Terwilliger Parkway for a morning of plant and garden care at the Hamilton St Playground. This is the second habitat restoration event to establish native plants in areas of the parkway previously covered by blackberry and ivy. Volunteers will be planting ferns along the slopes between the playground and SW Terwilliger Blvd.
We invite all members of the community to volunteer; no previous gardening experience is necessary. Tools, gloves, and project instructions will be provided.
- There is a portable restroom on short distance away from the planting area.
- Plenty of free street parking along SW Terwilliger Blvd, SW Hamilton St, and SW Hamilton Terrace.
- Friends of Terwilliger volunteer leader will greet you on site.
- There is no drinking water available at the project site, please bring your water.
- The work will take place on slopes and uneven terrain and require volunteers to bend over and kneel.
- Event starts at 10:00 am and end at 1:00 pm. You are welcome to join when you can and leave when you need.
