Join PP&R and the Friends of Terwilliger Parkway for a morning of plant and garden care at the Walpole Garden. Volunteers will be planting 500 ferns along the slopes of the garden, previously covered by blackberry and ivy.
We invite all members of the community to volunteer; no previous gardening experience is necessary. Tools, gloves, and project instructions will be provided.
- There is a portable restroom on short distance away from the planting area.
- Plenty of free street parking along SW Terwilliger Blvd, SW Bancroft, and SW Hamilton Terrace.
- PP&R horticulturist will greet you on site.
- There is no drinking water available at the project site, please bring your water.
- The work will take place on slopes and uneven terrain and require volunteers to bend over and kneel.
- Event starts at 9:00 am and end at 2:00 pm. You are welcome to join when you can and leave when you need.
Meeting Location
The Walpole Garden is located at the intersection of SW Bancroft St and SW Hamilton Terrace.
