Marquam Nature Park Stewardship Event

Description

Project Description:

Join Portland Parks & Recreation and Forest Park Conservancy to remove noxious weeds, plant native plants and other stewardship tasks in Marquam Nature Park. By removing noxious weeds, encouraging natural regeneration and planting a diversity of native plant species we help to enhance wildlife habitat, reduce erosion and limit water runoff. This is a great way to get outside and enjoy nature!

Please bring your own water bottle, wear closed toe shoes, and dress for the weather. Instructions, tools, and gloves will be provided. For the safety of staff and other volunteers, please stay home if you are feeling sick.

Please register ahead of time by selecting “respond” for an individual and “respond for a team” to register more than one person. If you are not comfortable creating a login to register for any reason, please reach out to monica.walker@portlandoregon.gov and we can help you get registered.

Meeting location: The meeting location will differ for each date. A detailed description of the meeting location and map link will be sent to all registered participants the day before the event.

Children are welcome if accompanied by an attentive adult.

Accessibility:  This event will require bending over and walking on uneven surfaces. A portable restroom will be available at this site.

Thank you for helping to keep Portland parks healthy and beautiful! Below are a few tips to get you ready for your stewardship event.
