Project Description:
Join Portland Parks & Recreation to steward Forest Park by removing invasively growing, non-native species, including English ivy, and Armenian blackberry and encouraging a diversity of native plants. By removing noxious weeds, encouraging the regeneration of native plants and planting a diversity of native plant species we help to enhance wildlife habitat and reduce erosion and water runoff. This is a great way to get outside and enjoy nature!
Please bring your own water bottle, wear closed toe shoes, and dress for the weather. Instructions, tools, and gloves will be provided. For the safety of staff and other volunteers, please stay home if you are feeling sick.
Please register ahead of time by selecting “respond” for an individual and “respond for a team” to register more than one person. If you are not comfortable creating a login to register for any reason, please reach out to monica.walker@portlandoregon.gov and we can help you get registered.
